Profiles are one of the best kept secrets around regarding Mozilla Firefox (my browser of choice).
In the role of web site designer, I find it useful to have Firefox set up with various Extensions for helping test compliance, keep track of Google Adsense earnings, checking PageRank and Alexa rating, etc…
However, when I am simply surfing the internet, I don’t want to be weighed down by all these tools, cluttering up my status and toolbars. I like a slick, simple browser that looks good and works quickly.
Fortunately, I am able to have both of these scenarios in Firefox, through the wonder of Profiles.
How do Firefox Profiles work?
Firefox allows multiple users to set up the browser to suit their own specific needs and tastes, from Themes and Extensions to Bookmarks and Home Page.
Upon startup of Firefox, you are able to choose which user profile you would like to use.
So, you can now have a profile for your web development needs, one for your personal surfing, and even one for the kids (allowing you to increase Firefox’s security measures).
Each profile is independent of the others, so it’s like having a new installation for each user.
How do I activate Firefox Profiles?
1. Firstly, find the Firefox shortcut on your desktop (or create one from the .exe file).
2. Right-click it, and select properties.
3. Lastly, in the Target box, add ‘ -p’ without the apostrophes to the end of the target line (so that it reads something like ‘C:\Program Files\Mozilla\Firefox\firefox.exe -p’), and click OK.
Now when you start Firefox through this shortcut you will be prompted with the Profiles Manager box (as long as you do not already have an instance of Firefox open). It’s all self-explanatory from thereon.
For faster start-up, I advise that you keep two shortcuts on your desktop – one to load up Firefox as normal, and this new one to execute only when you want to change profile

It’s true that online games can help relieve stress. But there are many types of online games available on the Internet. These range from freely available massively multiplayer role playing game (MMOPRG) to tiny Flash games.
Role playing games are very fun. You can interact with others online, and there are entire virtual worlds out there. These worlds are actually a duplication of the real world, except that you can do a lot of fantasy stuff like killing monsters or casting spells. In these worlds, there are usually active economies. That means trading, buying and selling are taking place every day. Virtual currency is used for trading. They are commonly known as gold or platinum. “Money” is usually in the name of some precious stones.
But although these games are fun and exciting, they are also time consuming. If you don’t have huge blocks of time available, it is unlikely that you will get to enjoy these games. As most people are busy with day jobs and a busy life style, these games may not be the ideal source of entertainment.
Fortunately, there are other games freely available on the Internet. These are usually Flash games. Flash is a plug in for the browser. Traditionally, this plug in needs to be downloaded and installed into the browser before Flash games can be played. However, almost all modern browsers come pre-installed with this plug in. So there is no need to worry about installation issues.
To play these games, all you need is an Internet connection and a modern browser. Mozilla Firefox is highly recommended. Some sites may require you to register before you are allowed to play these games. But most sites allow you to play for free with registration.
There are many types of games in many different genres that you can play. You can choose to play arcade games, adventure games, puzzle games, racing games, funny games, and more. The type of games that you choose to play largely depends on your personal interest as well as the amount of time you have on hand.
Many free games sites have evolved to become mini community sites. These sites allow players to interact with one another through special features such as commenting and rating. From the rating system, you can easily see which are the top games, and head straight for those.
While you play a game, you may get stuck sometimes at some difficult levels. In this case, you can often get hints just by reading the comments left by other players.
All in all, online game is not just an entertainment experience. It has also become a social experience. Interaction that has not been possible before is now widely available. In fact, many players have come to expect at least some form of interaction capabilities like commenting or chatting. These special features make the gaming experience so much more enjoyable.

People Search White Pages for many reasons, perhaps they want to find an old friend, or they need a phone number that they have lost. Maybe they are getting phone calls from an unknown number and they want to know whom they are. No matter what your reasons are for using the white pages, the Internet makes it easy to find the information you want quickly and easily.
Finding free white pages online is pretty easy. The Internet allows you to find many resources instantly and you will have many to choose from. The most common People Search White Pages for the US are Whitepages. You can use this tool to find multiple things about a person from their phone number to their email address with only their last name (and city or zip). You may be surprised at how comprehensive your results will be. For Canadians, Whitepages is a good resource as well and you will find that the information is much the same as well as the search process as it is in the US.
Europe also has access to companies that provide them with People Search White Pages. While Whitepages is not available to European countries like England, Ireland, etc. that gap is filled by BT. They offer much the same information as Whitepages with the same information. People in other countries outside of the US and Europe will find that Numberway is a great resource for finding white page directories categorized by country.
The type of browser you use may also be a useful tool for finding phone numbers or people. Browsers like Firefox, for example offers a search toolbar for finding people either through their phone number or their name. Firefox does offer this product for free when you download their browser; you simply choose it as one of your options.
Don’t forget, one of the basics in finding people online is by doing a Google search. If the person you are looking for has done anything of consequence using their name, from graduating from college to managing a blog, then you will be able to find something out about them. Google also offers a reverse look up tool.
Finding someone online has never been easier, whether you use a dedicated People Search White Pages site or an established Internet browser, knowing your options makes searching for someone so much easier than it has ever been before.
